Tanzanite owes its rarity and exclusivity to the fact it can only be found in a 4 x 2 km stretch of mine at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro in northern Tanzania. Estimated to be 1,000 times rarer than diamonds, these gems have another amazing property that make them so special – Pleochroism. This means that they show multidimensional colours from different angles - in the case of this one, light blue and purple shades can be viewed simultaneously when the gem moves around.
Set in 14K yellow gold with quality fabrication by hand, it features a clawed bezel setting to protect the gem and yet allow enough light through for it to really shine. The pendant also features a thick ring bail to keep it secure while the gem dances and sparkles.
